Durian Feast

These durians, RM50 for 40 of them are really cheap and not even one was bad. I suppose you can never go wrong with durians from Perak, especially those from Parit, Kampung Gajah, Bota, Kuala Kangsar, and Taiping for most of them are grown wild and not altered by any special chemicals. Yummy!

To m-learning or Not?

Perhaps the scariest decision a CIO has to make is the investment over a particular platform for developing applications and delivering products. In a visit to our e-learning content developer this morning, we had a long conversation over the 'wait-and-see' market sentiment in e-learning on transitioning towards m-learning. While, a few have boasted capabilities in hardware and infrastructure, it is still unknown to everyone the return on content profitability on mobile. The initiatives at McGraw-Hill Canada in developing some content on mobile is much appraised.

While some are going ahead with .Net platform, half others are with Palm, and a few making inroads with Symbian platforms. Besides the entire new paradigm in instructional design for mobile learning, human interface problems, the best win is to invest in research and development on mobile learning both in infra and info-structure for the making it big in five or ten years ahead.

For me, I place my bet in heavy invest in making the learning objects highly reusable for future repuporsing and aggregating. Last but not least, be very strategic about the transitioning to adoption of Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) for low cost, high quality soloutions in content.

Dream

I had one of the weirdest dreams last night. And I woke up this morning all tired and as if my legs were cramped. That I was in a race, running non-stop, every terrains, every roads, passing meadows, valleys, and swamps. And I had really tough time getting out of the swamp. And everyone was supporting me. Telling me I'll be fine, and only a couple of them helped.

If this dreams supposedly to mean anything, I guess it tells me that it will be LONG before I make my break and i just have to push more limit.

The Ibrahimovic Superb Goal

The best goal I ever seen in Euro!!! And I saw it live! Taught Italy lesson for not to be too confident in defending, taking out attacking forward when gotten one goal.

OPs OPHELIA: Opening Night

OPs OPHELIA finally opened and I have been busy calling up people, doing invitations, sorting out lists, taking care of tickets, overseeing media relationships, and etc. that I feel so wonderful that I found great things to do in my life. For me getting to know people, making new friends, expanding networks are the most satisfying experience in life. I met really fabulous people, great performers, wonderful creative team, and people like I have known them in my past life.

Three nights have passed and after ten more shows, I know I will be so lonely without these great people. As Shakespeare said, life is like a stage, and my stage is at times crowded, and at times so void. The highlight was at the opening night where we headed to Cafe Cafe who was kind enough to sponsor us a great treat for the opening.

OPs OPHELIA: a FaShioN opeRa
Artsee Networks is pleased to present OPs OPHELIA: a FaShioN opeRa, a tanztheater (dance-theatre) production that combines the performance elements of fashion with music, dance and theatre, to be staged at the DBP Stor Theater from June 16th to 27th.

Conceived, directed and co-produced by Rohaizad Suaidi who lectures theatre fulltime at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the performance is a celebration of women and the roles they play in society.

OPs OPHELIA takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet,” pre-Raphaelite paintings of Ophelia, German writer Heiner Müller’s “The Hamletmachine,” and the book “Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls” by clinical psychologist Dr. Mary Pipher.

This production aims to theatrically present the struggles and challenges experienced by Malaysian women of different age groups, social classes, spiritual backgrounds and sexual identities in their journey through the male-dominated cultural landscape to find their true selves.

My Brother's Wedding - Part 2

Here are some pictures from the night bersanding, the fun we had when we made them ride the Vespa with the tong susu behind it to make a round in the nearby area of the kampung, and also the wedding cake.

My Brother's Wedding - Part 1

The first wedding in the family; Dodi & Nor. Everyone was excited and it went well, very well indeed. We didn't hire caterers but rather a 'gotong royong' event with everyone involved in the preparation of the best nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, rojak jelatah, rendang tok, and dalca. Almost 800 people came over for the wedding in Ipoh.

Here are some pictures from the malam nikah, to the bride's and groom's place, and a pose shot. Thanks to Fitri, Abang Mat, and Kak Ina for have been very wonderful being the best men and bridesmaid.
