The Malaysian Super League | Perak 0 - Pahang 0

Another splendid game by Perak (all yellow). Only that it was a draw game 0-0. Otherwise, on the scale of 1 to 10, Perak displayed 9 in game control and skill. Pahang looks like they make mistake on their import players. Indra sure missed his teammates. That guy clearly didn't get all the support he wanted. Kudos to Seator, Saravanan, and Kit Kong on good passing and tactics. Could have been better, though ... as mybrother put, something was not right between Seator and Saravanan. Credit should also go to the defensive side ... the lanky no 4 is so skillful. I couldn't wait to catch more acts of this player.

Hopefully another good year for the Perak FA. We love our team!!!

I just bought the SONY CyberShot P8 over the weekend and I am so determined to learn about digital photography and imaging. Hopefully, I can become professional in one or two years.

Review: Six Feet Under

Later tonight, I will continue watching the first season of Six Feet Under DVD box that I had purchased. Alan Ball the creator of this highly rated HBO show about a funeral home is a one genius producer. Though the show contains similar themes to his award winning American Beauty, Six Feet Under explores the:

grief after demise,
the intricate social values in America,
the real deal in business world today (small operator vs. corporate chain),
the strong expressions in each of the character (a mom who got married at 19 and seek new life after death of a husband,
a rebelious teenager daughter,
a prodigal son who comes return to his family business after the father will gave him half of it as well as his 'synthetic' communication with his father in getting to know him after years of seperation,
the central character of a son who has worked his life in the funeral business who also has the sixth sense of communicating with the death,
the significant others of which one is a hot brilliant chick,
the Puerto Rican corpse artist,
a same sex partner,
an affair partner, and the 'rebellious daughter' journey through adulthood.

The remaining characters centered around the different cases of death person and the family griviences to pay the last tribute. This show is so addictive and if you are a drama buff, you'll probably end up watching this DVD box hour after hour continuously. This show leverages on the creativity of different directors who direct one of two of the episodes in a season as well as the superb performance of the cast - Frances Conroy recently won the best actress at the Goledn Globe.

And I must say that Alan Ball is my favorite director for this show. He made one of the best, hmmm ... I would say the best pilot episode I have ever watched. The development of each character was well introduced and made you want to see more and more of the show. Another high point of this show is the splendid use camera, instrumental music (John Newman), and the best camera use in scene transition that is done beutifully.

I give this show a rating of 4.5 over 5.0.

The First February Weekend - Of Sports, Movie, and Studies

It was a weekend full of sports. Started with the victory of Perak beating the national team followed with the victory two of my bets in the first Grand Slam of year, i.e. Justine Hardine-Henine and Roger Federer, the excitement didn’t stop right there, Thiery Henry displayed a class of his own through that most talked about goal shot of the week and at the same time stole the thunder from Reyes, the newly signed teen sensational from Spain. Also interesting was the Anelka-Cole drama.

Monday morning I woke up so early that I followed Michelle Kwan’s 8th success at the National Figure Skating championship in Atlanta, only to find out later on that it was the 38th Super Bowl. Watched it till the 3rd quarter. The Patriots won in a high adrenaline final just like the final game of the Rugby World Cup. The half time concert was entertaining though.

Well, one thing for sure. Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake have lots to answer for the booby incident during the concert. The network TV stations that broadcast the big event could be in trouble as such display is allowed only on cables in the states (as I was informed).

Had to stop there at the third quarter to rush for the movie Runaway Jury that I thought was great. It was one of the great John Grisham’s work adapted into movie. Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, John Cusack, and Rachel Weisz were awesome. Great acting with good drama and twist, the movie is highly recommended to Grisham fans.

Well then, a friend called me to inform me that he managed to get me the first season of Six Feet Under on DVD! I can’t wait to get them and watch this highly rated show on HBO and see what the fuss are all about the Frances Conrad victory at the Golden Globe.

And here I am now about to brew my coffee for a sleepless night reading and drilling on forwards, futures, swaps, and options!!!
