Engineering concept is beautiful. In an event that I will be actively co-organizing later this week, the work of engineering the mechanism of pushing certain agendas and highlighting issues are borne out of matching an open system with negative feedback. The beauty lies in the work devising the flows inside the black box. You can’t see what is inside, yet you can program it. And it is programming using the most natural language you can ever imagined.
The actors gather from time to time to discuss on how the black box functions, the inputs fed into it, and the output that it produced. It is amazing how some actors wanted to control some of the black boxes but taken aback in operation, putting the lead actor’s set of functions in jeopardy.
I once learnt while being a rapporteur at the World Economic Forum last year that the likes of WEF organization such as World Bank, the UN, and the IMF, that you have to be very attentive to the preset agenda of the conferences or seminars or workshops that they organize. Once you can capture that, you know whether the issues or agenda you are trying to address will be noted or just getting your airtime and wasting your travel expenses and loads of work you have done. Therefore, gone are all the characteristics and functions that you have programmed into the black box, and only to have other black box getting through.
And for me to have control into most of the parameters, variables, and constants in the programming of some of the black boxes at this event is a wonderful experience in a lifetime.
Have you been feeling this way lately? Too bad I have not feeling well for the last couple of days. Otherwise, I could have pushed myself to the limit!
