Today, the United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan finally spoke up on the failure of the United Nations to lead the world; and its inefficient, undemocratic, and outdated scruture of the organization, particularly the Security Council which is now at the single hegemonic veto power of the United States (although it wasn't mentioned directly), who had from time to time undermine the decisions and voices made by the other 180 members.
I am overwhelmed by this statement as Bush is now begging for more UN intervention (with conditions) on buidling of Iraq post-war. It is a clear signal that the Republican president is now facing an exit door at the next election and the UN has now take the lead and concerns of the voices of the developing world. Let's hope for more reforms at the world body for the betterment of this planet.
